Gents, this is from a group that has wasted trillions of dollars over the last 50 years in their failed war on poverty. This isn't about helping people and has never been about helping people. They could care less about the true welfare of the poor or minorities. This is about buying votes, pure and simple. And sadly it must work because how else could you explain the appeal of an ideology that has never worked and will never work? They create a dependent class, they ensure that the dependent class stays on the plantation and then they buy their votes. Its the great weakness of democracy.

To wit, why do Republicans get far more support from Hispanics in Texas than they do in California? Answer: Because in Texas there are lots of middle class Hispanics. Not so in California. So it is mission accomplished in California turning an entire demographic group into worthless dependents of government which ensures the reelection of Demoncrats and the abject misery of their constituents.

There is no surprise here to me and when the next bubble happens they will again blame the GOP (who tried to avoid the last one but were blocked by the likes of Bawney Fwank and Chris Cheap Money Dodd) and the sycophantic government media will dutifully report the lie. History.....repeat......
