First to your question about the state of politics. If you read a lot of history you will see that there is truly nothing new under the sun and in politics or any other aspect of life. In my opinion politics is way more honest today than it have probably ever been......which admittedly is setting the bar low. But remember how Kennedy won. Look at Lincoln's first campaign for President. Read ancient history and it is rife with examples of the base nature of politics. Lord Acton in 1887 wrote the famous quote about power corrupting and absolute power corrupting absolutely. That is the danger of politics.

Second and most important of all, staying home and not voting is not the right answer. It is much better to vote for an imperfect candidate than to stand by and allow a truly awful one get elected. The GOP is rife with problems like any organization composed of mortal human beings. However, if you intellectually examine the results of the last four years with Dems controlling the WH and Senate (and two of the four controlling the House) you cannot come to any other conclusion than it has been a disaster for this country and the world. As imperfect as Republicans are, and there is no debate about that, they are by far the lesser of the two evils and given we only have these two choices to me is a no brainer.

Accepting disaster in search for the perfect is folly. I can't stand by and say that since Romney wasn't my first choice I am going to sit this one out. That is a recipe for four more years of an incompetent and failed ideology that the country may not be able to recover from. Don't let that happen.
