You can always get one of those lights that you put on your forehead, maybe the constabulary would not pull you for running docking lights... I don't see where it it would be an external connection - there is not a "light" wire, just + and - 12 volts.

http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/1068_OwnersManual.pdf - page 4 shows what is SUPPOSED to work...
