Before all the NFL purists and union thugs want to string me up for defending the NFL replacement refs at least listen to my point. If any of you have ever been around NFL players or close to them on the field you will know that the speed of the game and the players are mind boggling. What the NFL has done is similar to taking a basketball ref at the YMCA and put him into a Div 1 college game. It would not be pretty and Bob Knight would come out of retirement and throw a chair and everyone on both sides would cheer.

It is not the refs fault. They are doing the best they can given their level of experience and the speed and complexity of the game at the professional level. All the ire should be directed at the commissioner's office and the union for this stupid lockout. Yes, their lack of ability cost Green Bay the game last night.....which is fine with me because I don't like Green Bay and think Aaron Rogers is way overrated......but I digress....... I just think the expectation that a group of college refs from Div 3 and below can step up to the NFL and perform was a ludicrous idea from the outset.

So all I am saying is to save your ire for the commissioner and the ref's union and give the guys trying to do their best a break......I mean, really, can't we all just get along?!?!?
