And we all know why. My Lord, did he not know that Steven Chu, the current energy secretary, has opined that we need European gas prices (i.e., $10 per gallon)? No, not the head of EPA, but the Energy Secretary whose job used to be to ensure the country has enough energy. Did he not know that permits for oil and gas exploration on federal lands have been cut in half during the last four years? Did he not know that the TOTUS administration put a moratorium on further exploration in the deep Gulf of Mexico and other offshore waters while at the same time giving the Brazilians billions in aid to explore for oil off their coast? Did he not know that EPA has clamped down on exploration in the U.S., including issuing baseless administrative orders to try to prevent fracking for shale gas? Did he not know oil companies issued permits to explore on federal lands and offshore lease holdings over 10 years ago have yet to obtain all the federal permits from DOI and other agencies to do so? Did he not know that oil exploration is subject to the requirements of National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act and the National Fishing Enhancement Act, not to mention a myriad of state and local regulations? Did he know that BLM recently passed complex regulations for fracking on federal and Indian lands?
And finally, did he know that the vast majority of current oil and gas exploration has occurred on private land not under the immediate control of the federal government?
The answer is that the only thing that GF and libtards like him know are things that are just not so........
