The only other process is Flouridation (a very contrversial chemical) use for strengthening teeth.

A reverse osmosis filter coupled with one using UV lamps & activated charcoal will be of greater purity than ANY utility produced water. It is essentially 99.999% pure water. Without the poison of chlorine and flouride (yes I said poison, research it). Visit any water purification plant and ask for a tour. If they agree to a tour, pay attention to the warnings and safety protocols posted inside the plant where these chemicals are introduced.

I guess that I've seen the inside of too many water mains, I might be getting paranoid.
