I am still cogitating.  I heard Paul Ryan's explanation of why he voted for the bill on the Hugh Hewitt show on Wednesday and it was interesting.  Seemed to me an adult decision based on the facts he presented but I am still evaluating what they voted on and reading about it.

As I said earlier, it may have been the best they could do given the alternative of taxes going up on every American. As Ryan said, they did what they could to limit the damage to the economy and that TOTUS actually got very little of what he really wants......at least in this round.  Of course we will go through this again with the debt ceiling in 2-3 months and we will see what happens.

My guess is that Obama will want more tax increases and will oppose any spending cuts proving once again that he has no interest in compromise and does not care what long-term damage he does to our economy.  Interesting factoid for you to ponder......the share of debt held by every U.S. citizen is over $50K.......the share of debt held by every citizen of the disastrous Greece?  $35K........

But the youth vote asked for a lower standard of living by voting for Obama and they will get it.  That is guaranteed and I will not feel the least bit guilty as they are paying for my medical care and other entitlements.  Elections have consequences and I only hope I am around long enough to listen to them complain about 50%+ taxation.  I plan to smile and tell them I told them so when they were younger but they just wouldn't listen.
