The president has very little to do with energy costs on a day to day basis.  For instance, we are paying almost twice as much today for gasoline as we were when Obama took office but we have, as yet, never paid (on average) what we paid at the peak price during W's second term.  It is the global market demand (you remember...private enterprise...capitalism), geo-political conditions and some things as mundane as when refineries s close for maintenance that set the daily price...not something that Obama or Bush says or does.  If the pipeline is built, as I suspect it will be, and alternative energy policy on wind, solar and nuclear come on line, new auto mileage requirements kick in, and if some semblance of stability take hold in The middle east...well you see these are the kind of things that will have more to do with what we will be paying in 2023 no matter who is president and no matter what he or she is doing or saying at that time.

BTW:  If it is, as you apparently believe, Obama's fault that gas prices are up, then does he get your credit now that they are trending down? Since we are talking energy, who do you credit with the fact that natural gas prices are at the lowest they have been in well over a decade?  I certainly don't credit Obama for current gasoline or natural gas prices, but must assume since you obviously blame him for literally ANYTHING bad that happens  then you, being "fair and balance" and in no way hypocritical in your beliefs and opinions, must be chomping at the bit to thank Mr. Obama for making it possible for you to pay 8 cents a gallon less for gasoline today than you did last Tuesday.  I am sure he appreciates your gratitude!
