We maybe on the cusp of the decade of official incompetence in all sports. Course, some of this is we have much more Money involved than before, more sports and players watering down the top tier of competent officials.

I was a soccer judge for years back in Texas. Became a college line ref, and I knew that was my top limit. No way I could go onto to become a field ref. Not fast enough nor good enough. I refused every offer to do so. It is a tough, demanding Job. Glad I stuck to my guns. Respect the sport too much to cause harm to the kids by my bad calls.
