You are right about the water temp....bearable. With clothes on I jumped on my old Sea Doo today to pull some short logs to the slough. Well, I lowered the lift, shoved it off, hit the starter, and NOTHING. Had to test the water. Got back to the dock, charged the battery, and back in business.

What kind of activity was going happening on "bald island"?
