We took a crew out yesterday afternoon even though the striper bite slows down to little or nothing after 11:00 a.m. and doesn't pick up again until the sun starts going down. We marked individual fish in front of the amphitheater, near Tallasee Slough and under the wires. We also marked a couple of schools in the back of Wares Slough.The graph indicated that we were putting baits right n their noses, but we only found one that was willing to take a boat ride.
At this time of year we prefer to get out early to take advantage of "the jump". The fishing is great when they're busting shad on top. Expect to see much larger numbers of stripes all along the edges of the main river channel as the water heats up.
