The owner of Pinson Heating & Cooling wanted to give trolling for stripes a try this morning. We left the dock at 7:00 and headed out on slick water. It wasn't long before we saw a school of stripes on the jump, but by the time we eased over with lines down, they had sounded. It was interesting watching the center console guys chase the surface action, but I didn't see any nets come out. There was one gent that would roar right into the school and then cast all around his boat. Problem was that by actually getting into the group, they will scatter and dive. Pretty tough to hook up that way.
The first three hours were frustrating. We marked schools on the graph, but didn't get any takers. They may have simply been on the move and gone before the baits got there.
Speaking of baits, my confidence bait has been a spoon, but we didn't get strikes until we switched to swim baits. just sayin'...  Around 10:00 we boated a schoolie and hooked into something large enough to break 20# Trilene. Not sure if he cut it with a gill plate or if there was a nick in the line. Either way, that reel has fresh line on it now.
We have the Hennessy crew set up for a trip early Monday. We won't miss all of the weekend boat traffic ;0).

Stay tooned.....
