Conservatives are routinely pilloried by the left (i.e., dem politicians and the govt media) about suppression of voters and yet nary a peep about the suppression that occurred in the 2012 cycle that likely led to SOTUS being reelected.  I was totally mystified at the change in turnout from 2010 to 2012 given the continuing awful circumstances in the country as a result of SOTUS and the Dem-led Senate.  The following about a study pretty much sums it up.

And yes I recognize that AEI is biased so I encourage you to look at their research and tell me where they are wrong in their analysis.  I have looked at it and can only agree with their conclusions.  No wonder we now have a second IRS official pleading the 5th.  If Holder were not so blatantly corrupt the Justice Dept would be all over this. Just one more in a long litany of reasons why we need to regain control of the Senate in 2014 and the WH in 2016.

The American Enterprise Institute makes the case that the IRS targeting and harassment of Tea Party groups swung the 2012 election in Democrats' favor. Researchers compared voter turnout in 2010 and 2012 using data from a variety of government and media sources and surmised that the neutralization of many Tea Party groups by the IRS in the 2012 election cycle led to a suppression of conservative voter turnout. According to the report, had the Tea Party groups' effect been similar in 2012 to that of the "shellacking" they dealt Obama and Democrats in the 2010 midterm elections, "they would have brought the Republican Party as many as 5 - 8.5 million votes compared to Obama's victory margin of 5 million."
