Here's the deal Archie just so you understand how the Catholic Church works. On matters not involving issues of faith and morals the Church recognizes that Catholics can in good conscience disagree with the Bishops or priests and even the Holy Father. They are not a monolith and the USCCB often expresses their opinion on issues that not all Bishops or priests agree, voting rights being just one of many.

So I can and do disagree with Bishops on a number of issues as do a great many faithful, orthodox, practicing Catholics. In this case I think we agree that all eligible voters should be allowed to do so and only once (which of course would be a huge blow to the Democrat party). But that doesn't mean we will agree on what constitutes access to voting and I have no problem with my belief that a person should be an eligible voter and be ready to demonstrate they are who they are. I doubt the Bishops would disagree with me but if some do, so be it.

However, the Bishops, the Cardinals, the Holy Father and I are in 100% agreement on all issues of faith and morals, voting rights not being one of them....not even close. So for example, your views on abortion constitute a grave moral evil and the Church teaches that your very soul is at risk because of the intrinsic evil you support with your words, your votes and most likely your money. So now if the Bishops are all of the sudden in agreement with you on an issue that doesn't even involve faith and morals, I assume you must now agree with them on everything and you condemn yourself. You can pick and choose what you agree with them on many things, but faith and morals is not one of them.

Archie, I would have thought by now you would have learned not to go down these kind of roads with me but it seems you have an unlimited ability to say the wrong things at the wrong time. Such is the existence of the left wing nuts. Any grammatical errors your wife wants to check? Because she needs to read this post if she too shares your beliefs.
