If your pontoon boat has a lifting eye on the front of each pontoon tie a line to each. When you run up on the beach have a piling or tree in front of the center of your boat. Tie both lines tightly to the mooring. This will keep the boat from swinging.
Dan forth anchors hold very well but are sometimes difficult to retrieve. One way to prevent this is to tie your anchor line to the base of the anchor (at the pivot point). Then leave a bit of slack and secure the anchor line to the shank with a bit of light line. You can anchor normally but if the anchor hangs, a stout snatch breaks the light line and the anchor is easily pulled out backwards.
