I think it is a great idea and I know we would participate. Keeping Lake Martin clean and pristine benefits all of us.

Where we live in Acworth we have Lake Allatoona ( Lake Martin more beautiful by far) and they do a huge event every year after the first draw down called The Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up. Vendors come in and its somewhat of a festival. Lake Martin is probably 15 times bigger but if enough people got involved there could be different jump off points with one central location for the big festival at the end of the cleanup. It would be too much to organize by August -- but your idea is a great start to something that could be much bigger with sponsors and entertainment.
Maybe Lake Martin already has something like this -- we are new to the lake and have only been here around 4 months.

Regardless-- count us in!
