Our military is ultimately under civilian control… elected officials (i.e. the Commander-In-Chief). As such the military… regardless of what is best for it… reflects the morals and political desires of the civilian legislative and executive branches. A mean nasty dog can get to the end of its chain, poops wherever its masters(s) allow, and eats as much as it is fed. Today’s military, regardless of its capabilities, is reduced to being a Chihuahua on a short chain.

That said, if a military officer is a brown nosing politician… then his service certainly looks smells and tastes like his politics. 
 

BUT, if he is a military professional… he trains to fight the wolf, is vigilant to discern the wolf, and will go out to meet the wolf… and his pack will follow him.

One must separate what is happening to, and being foisted upon our brave men and women… from their willingness and effectiveness to serve their country. One need only to loose the chain to discover that difference.

You must interpret my words by understanding my commitment to my country and its Constitution. You will never find treason or anything unconstitutional. Though I am long of tooth, frayed about my edges, and grey on my thatched roof… and regardless of my being much less than enamored with our “president” and his unbelievable timidity and naivety disguised as arrogance… and despite my disgust with our legislative houses…
