Subject:   Just out of curiosity.....

On my way to CAT's ramp close to Nick's (RIP) one day I took my pontoon boat under the bridge. The water was about 489, maybe half a foot lower, and I had to lay the bimini completely flat, move the anchor light to a horizontal position, even remove the plastic "windscreen" from the captain's console...and kneel on the deck as I went under. Had to wait until there wasn't another moving boat within a quarter mile, because the least little ripple would have caused the boat to bounce against the bridge concrete.

Now the typical pontton boat sits fairly high, but with the water hovering at 489.5/489.6 I would venture a guess that about the only thing that would go under it would be a low slung bass boat or jon boat. Would be interested in hearing from those who do live east of the bridge. What will go under it?

Update: Just read PikeSki's post. Hmmm...would a typical open bow ski boat make it?
