Yet another reason this is going to backfire on the Dems. Even with Clinton in 1995 the shutdown did not do anywhere near the damage the leftist media wants us to believe. What Democrats have today is the least popular Senate Majority Leader, a wildly unpopular former House Majority Leader and a politically tin eared and increasingly unpopular president. Combine that with the wildly unpopular Obamacare, rampant unemployment, vast new deficits and the liberal govt media no longer controlling the message and we have a recipe for disaster for Dems.

Of course, this is not without risks and we know the low information voter gave the affirmative action president a do over despite his first term objectively being a disastrous failure. So we shall see how this all plays out but like the sequester the longer this goes on the more average Americans will realize how little this means to everyday life.
