A fine young man worked for me as an Air Force second lieutenant 1983-1984.  August 15th he will be promoted to General (the four star kind).

The Lake Martin connection is that when he worked for me we used to take my very old flat bottom ski boat to the Maxwell-Gunter rec area on weekends for skiing and general fun.  One of the MANY times the motor decided it was too tired to continue we were wondering how we would get to the bank and noticed we were leaving a small wake....looked at the front of the boat and there he was, pulling an old 17foot boat by swimming....fast enough to leave a wake.
