Loss Leader is the marketing term. They don't make much, if anything, on that item, but the other $50 worth of stuff you passed and bought unplanned make up for the loss. SAM's rotisserie birds is worse. Much larger than Wally's and $4.88 in B'Ham.

I got a rotisserie attachment for the Weber Kettle specifically for chickens, and it works great. About 80 minutes and ready.
