If you look at the Ebola thread, I was posting in reference to MM link, which I actually took the time and read.  It was interesting, it raised a lot of good points about what might happen.  Lifer then made a snarky response about me needing "enlarge my references" or something to that effect.  When I responded to him, Buteye jumped on me and started criticizing me for what I said to Lifer, which was really none of his business.  I read the first part of what Lifer had to say with interest... but I don't really care much for his snark.  It seems a lot like cyber-bullying to me, and most of us have seen that on the forums.  It's great when you can hide behind an alias, so you can be a bully or just plain nasty.  BTW, this is the only forum I use an alias on - and I for one would support using our real names.

I love a good debate with a lively exchange of ideas.  It doesn't bother me if someone doesn't agree with my ideas or my opinions.  I think it is great when we get a thread going and people are saying "what about this" and "what about that".  I think it is great if someone can say that they've had this or that experience and it brings another layer to the discussion.  One observation about this forum is that when someone doesn't agree with someone else's point of view, it starts to degrade the discussion into a personal attack.

Perhaps if everyone could just stay on topic and stop the personal attacks when someone posts something you don't agree with, everyone might learn something new. Woudn't that be great? It's a big world, and there are room for a lot of ideas - no one side has a monopoly on good ideas.
