My husband Ashley and I have owned/run Bay Pines Marina for past 3 summers.  Below is what I (Shari) posted on the marina facebook page this morning.  Thought I would share it here as well.  

Ashley and I will not be opening the marina this spring/summer.  As most of you know, there are two buildings on the property that we cannot use.  We can’t use them for a restaurant/rental without a septic system.  Over the last three years, we have spent countless hours, attended numerous meetings with various entities, etc…and have not come up with a place to put the system/field lines.  Although we had a great summer 2014, we still cannot make this place work from a financial standpoint.  Fortunately, our lien holder agreed to let us out of the mortgage and he has taken back ownership.  Whether or not he or someone else will try to open the marina is unknown.  We are hopeful that someone can make a go of it.  We cannot even begin to thank all of you for being so loyal and supportive.  We enjoyed the marina so very much – what a rewarding and fun experience if was for us.  We look forward to seeing all of you on the lake this summer.  Don’t forget about us - we aren’t going anywhere.  Comments are welcome, but if you want to make a private comment or ask questions, please do it via email at asbushong@gmail.com or on my personal facebook page (Shari Gaither Bushong).  For whatever reason, getting private messages on this page doesn’t always work.  With love, Ashley and Shari Bushong.
