First of all does anyone think Pete Carroll got any sleep last night? I think not. You have one of the best backs in football, you have a 2nd and goal at the 1, you have two timeouts and you have 0:40 to score a TD.......and the OC calls a passing play. I give credit to Carroll for accepting responsibility for that call and for lamely trying to defend it but it will go down as the worst call in Super Bowl history.....beyond a doubt in my mind. Other than that point of priceless stupidity it was a pretty good game to watch, especially for a Super Bowl. As an avid Steeler's fan I was surpised that once Pittsburgh was out of the playoffs they didn't just call the rest of it off. Seemed so pointless to me. :-)
I am waiting for the claims of cheating by the Patriots, and given their history it would not surprise me if it was true. Here's hoping it doesn't happen. Have to give credit to the Patriots defense in the 3rd and early parts of the 4th quarter. One more TD and Seattle could have run the clock out in the 4th but they held and forced punts. Officiating was pretty good although I did think they missed an interference call on the Pats when they tripped a Seattle receiver. May have been unintentional but nonetheless it should have been called.
Now for the important stuff....the commercials and halftime show......meh! Other than the neat graphics I would rather listed to Tom Petty than what they showed. Commercials were OK but none really grabbed me. I did like the positive father-based Toyota commercials.
