amen to those peaceful lake thoughts . But the rec boaters really only over-populate the waters on weekends and holidays so as a fisherman , I adapt to those conditions . 5 days out of 7 is not a bad trade-off . Still , I am thankful for football and deer hunting as well . Neither of these 2 activities interest me at all other than in the fact that they give the rec boaters something else to do besides making waves and putting the fish down . My former home lake , Hiwassee in SW NC , has a difference in summer pool and winter pool levels of 35 vertical feet , so an 8 foot variance here seems insignificant to me .
