lf congress votes for something knowing the president has promised to veto it, as he is constitutionally entitled to do, then it is absolutely congress that should get the credit or blame.  If as claimed, 70% of congress voted for a measure, then they have the votes to overturn the veto...the actuality is congress does not have anywhere near that kind of support for the BS the T-party crazies push.  In most cases, including the current situation, given an up or down vote (assuming the most far out on this forum still think the democratic members should be allowed to vote!) the common sense side wins.  Another interesting thing for some of you to consider is the fact that the 54 GOP senators represent states with less than 35% of the voting population and that in almost all gongressional elections in recent years the national total votes for the democratic candidates exceeds the total for the GOP candidates. There has been a lot of inaccurate polls lately, but currently the president has an approval rating of 40% to 50%, while the congress is at 7% to 12% approval...no matter how much the polls are off, we can be sure the congress is not held in deep affection.  Neither is either party...the dems are in the hole a bit either side of 25% but look stirling compared to the GOP which is down by more than 45%!  Some of you people need to get you heads out of the sand!!!
