Valid point - I seem to recall getting a clarification from the Mrs. with regards to the "is is" back in the early '90's, and she said that "is is", and if I thought that "is was not", that I was not.  I believe the comments had something to do with some Mr. and Mrs. Bobbit, but cannot remember the exact words..
