I have to say that after watching all of the candidates various victory and concession speeches (and some of them could hardly be classified as concessions); watching them on various talk shows; and reading their statements, I can't really say there is anyone running that I feel good about on either side of the aisle.  I don't hear anyone say anything that leads me to conclude that they understand the serious problems facing the country and what to do about them.  About the only one I feel at least a little better about is John Kasich, but I have a feeling he will be the next one to drop out.

Some days I am really glad that I am the age I am, so I likely won't be around to see the damage that any one of these candidates will do to the country in the long term.  No matter what they say, I have a strong gut feeling that they are more in love with the idea of being president, than actually doing things that will fix the country's problems.  I think that Marc Rubio is a nice guy, but he doesn't have enough experience after one term in Congress, any more than Obama did.  Ted Cruz is so delusional that he thinks finishing 3rd is a "win" and he couldn't get along with anyone in Congress when he was there.  He doesn't get along with anyone.  Which tells me we'll be no better off with him than Obama.  I like Trump, but I think he is out of his lane.  Ben Carson is clearly a nice guy, but he doesn't have a clue about foreign policy or how to fix the debt.  Hilary just wants to be President and is willing to say or do anything to get there just like Bill - they have a very tentative hold on the truth.  And Bernie - I love his vision, but he has no idea except some vague notions about how to make his vision reality; and before too long we would look like Europe.  He sees only the good in Europe and none of the bad.

I find myself having to take small doses of the poitical news, otherwise, I get discouraged  Where are all the smart people with common sense and the ability to see things clearly?  Why don't they run? I see interviews with Congress people that seem like reasonable human beings.  Why don't they run?
