I too am not a pellett cooker. But, I have just started to experiment using hardwood pellets in my electric smoker and my Weber Kettle.

I ordered a 20# bag from Amazon (not Traeger brand) for a very reasonable price. I plan to use it in the wood shute on the smoker and make a foil packet for the fire on the kettle.

As a comparison to wood chips..
