I have not forgotten about the folks who cannot use their boats during normal winter levels.  This lake has been rising and falling for nearly 100 years .  There are levels which the power company is supposed to abide by depending on the weather conditions.  January we were nearly 8' above rule; never hit full pool; then the first of September til now we have been right at 3' below rule.  Over my 50 years on this lake I have seen droughts and floods.  I've had boats beached and I've had boats hung up under piers.  And yes, this year I will have enough water to float my boat, hopefully.

Please don't take me wrong, I have neighbors who cannot get their boat out now and I feel for them.  My suggestion is to go out and enjoy the water you have.  Join LMRA or HOBO and try to keep the Corps of Engineers and Atlanta from taking another 2' of our water.  Florida and Georgia are going to trial on Oct.31.  As The Newnan Times-Herald reports "The trial marks a significant milestone in the decades-long fight between the states of Florida, Georgia and sometimes Alabama."  "... sometimes Alabama" worries me.  Get involved, keep what levels we have and enjoy them while the weather is nice outside.
