http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2016/10/25/texas-county-switches-paper-ballots-software-glitch/

Nope becuase when the problem was caught - then they switched to paper ballots till the company that handles the software for the machines issued a patch.  Had they wanted to commit fraud they would just indicate that the voter was just stupid and there is no evidence of fraud or that voter fraud just does not exist.

Now the question in my mind is does the company test the software?  if so I would have to say ES&S the company that actually handles the softeware on the machine would be at fault?  A disgruntled software engineer who was willing to try to slip one through or honest mistake?  A time delay bug that would not be caught in testing but would effect the voting day is not hard to write or wrap up in thousands of lines of computer code.

I can only imagine that marking a straight republican ticket but it leaving the presidental race unmarked or swapped would have to be one of the things that would be tested on the machine.

This article i found from 2014 showed the same company had and knew of the same problem.

“When that demo machine came here, the first thing we did was cross voted on it,” Moolenaar said.

He went on to say that, again, while conducting a community demonstration with the machine on July 17 at the Roatery on St. Croix, another person deliberately tested the machine for cross voting, without prodding from Board members, and found that the machine had cross voted and made it known to the elections team.

Moolenaar said when he, Bryan and Alexandre made the observation of the machine’s dysfunction, they reported it to the other Board members and immediately notified Alexia Scott Morrison, customer service manager at ES&S.

Story from 2011

http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/why-arent-ess-voting-machines-outlawed

Article about ES&S machines back in 2010 and not just D's cheating but R's too.

...in South Carolina the weird stuff is not limited to the Democratic side of the aisle because there are "three counties with more votes cast in Republican governor's race than reported turnout in the Republican primary." He said there may be more but the GOP gubernatorial primary "is the only race I've looked at so far other than the Democratic Senate race." Those three are Darlington, Horry and Marlboro, and there are two others, Bamberg and Fairfield, with zero residual GOP votes (i.e., the total number of GOP voters in the county is identical to number cast in the GOP gubernatorial), which McDonald informs me is very, very rare.

If ever there was a case for voting by mail or absentee ballot, this is it. Here are the states that still use these machines: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin. If you're in one of those states, vote by absentee ballot and bypass the machines.

Now we hear quite often about what states are needed to win the election

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/05/04/trump-white-house-electoral-college-key-states-republican-election/83863926/

Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania  - 4 of the 5 are ES&S machines with a fairly known history of not working correctly for whatever reason - Personally I can not for any reason imagine why anyone would want one of these machines in their state if they can not get their equipment to work correctly 100% of the time.

http://www.essvote.com/blog/52  ( now this appears to be 2012 data possibly 2014 data )

So just for fun i also looked up what states do not use audit trails with the ES&S machines Well there is Texas - maybe they got what they paid for there.  Somtimes cheep is not the better alternative.

Georgia - no suprise there.

Florida - After the hanging chad incident's and Gore shoulda won you would think they would have spent the extra money to upgrade to be able to do a proper recount!

Pennsylvania.

N. Carolina - Mixed with and without

Arizona - mixed with and without.

Ohio - Mixed with and without.

Again - pretty much the same list of states that are listed by USA today as must win for Trump.

So we are left with are a few possibilitles -

1. no one has bothered to update or test the election machines in several years for a known problem.

2. The company likes to keep putting bugs in their software to support a specific canidate.

3. Known compromised machines are kept around for fraudulent purposes when it suits someone.

Personally I think we should open up voting for about 2 weeks with ID and make sure that you put a thumbprint on it that will not wear off for about a month so you can not vote in person multiple times.  Any absenetee needs to also have  a thumbprint with supplied ink.  If two ballots show the same thumbprint then legal procedings can commence.  All ballots much have a paper trail and be verifiable to make sure noone of any party is cheating any election.
