Couldn't agree more. I have stated it a few times on here that to call everyone that puts on a uniform, be it millinery, LEO, or formal, a hero diminishes those that really are. Are some heroes? No doubt they are. Do some others commit an heroic act while not living the life of a "hero" all the time, absolutely. Who one holds as a hero tells volumes about the person. I interviewed countless for for jobs over the years and asked each one other than your parents who is your hero. I always excluded parents because that is just to easy and a pat answer. I had a few folks tell me that was one of the toughest interview questions they were ever asked, especially older folks. Like you said, I think the older one gets the fewer we hold in that regard. I guess we get jaded somewhat with age. Lots of folks can name a hero, but naming one's own hero is a little tougher.
