A lot of people said that they don't buy insurance and they don't mind paying the penalty because it is cheaper than the premium.

I'm glad the bill was withdrawn,  because if they don't have the votes to pass it when the Republicans hold the majority in both the house and the Senate, there is a strong probability that it wasn't a good plan.  And I for one, do not want to see one bad plan swapped for another bad plan.

In my mind, the goal at the end of the day is not a Republican solution or a Democratic solution, but a solution that works for the majority of the people in the United States.  Perhaps the answer is to make changes to Obamacare or perhaps they need to start again with a whole new concept.  It's amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit.  Perhaps the thing to do is enumerate the things that are wrong with Obamacare, and the enumerate what the goals are; and come up with some fixes.  You know, billiions were paid out by Drs. offices, hospitals and insurance companies to put the Obamacare apparateus in place.  So do we now expect those involved to spend billions more putting another apparateus in place?

The answer isn't for the government to subsidize health insurance, run health insurance or force people to buy it.  But it can be helpful in putting together legisilation that supports the health care industry in coming up with something that will work.  I don't believe that a voucher system is a solution, because the cost of health care will continue to rise and the voucher payments will not.  It's the wrong thing to pull Medicare out from under the feet of seniors.  There needs to be a competive system to bring costs down.
