Reminds me of one of a former preacher's favorite stories.  He visited a champion flower grower one time, and upon entering the greenhouse the grower picked up a rolled-up newspaper.  As they toured the greenhouse the grower would smack the plants with the newspaper.  Preacher was aghast and asked the grower why he did that.  The grower responded that without stimulation the plants went into remission and produced inferior flowers.  By stimulating them with the newspaper he shook them out of their malaise and caused them to produce better flowers.  I firmly believe that an applicable parallel is the US (the plant) and Trump ( the newspaper).
