  Yes gfy, you million people leaving by boat is much better than those same folks leaving on dry roads. This "rain event" was known for days in advance when the roads and skies in Houston were clear. Almost every NE has a car, few have boats. Those that didn't have cars could have been put on bases, but just like Katrina, they sat idle. You only defend him because he is a Democrat. The Republican governor correctly left evacuation decisions to local officials, but strongly advised evacuation. Had he been a Democrat the mayor would have agreed said evacuate but that is the state of mind of Democrats today. NEVER agree with or admit a Republican may be right on any issue.

  I wonder where all the ghetto dwellers that landed in Houston after Katrina will end up this time? Wind Creek made such a wonderful FEMA camp before I wonder will it be used again? The entire Houston area is a flood zone yet folks stayed behind. Brilliant. I would bet my house that mayor and his family and even his entourage are  high and dry though so that's what's important. After all, the community is depending on his "leadership" to get through this. I think Ray Nagin, the former mayor of NO, is still in prison for his post Katrina leadership. I saw a story and pic of a dog with more personal al responsibility than 90+‰ of Houston population. He was on a screen porch but left when the storm hit, but carried his bag of food with him.

EVery bank that holds a mortgage in the area should be forced to eat the losses for selling a mortgage in a flood zone to folks who didn't have flood insurance, but you can bet your ass the good Ole dependable taxpayers will be their to bail them out for the poor decisions they made.
