The media is all in a twit about the chemical plant that warned days ago this was likely to happen. They had three backup systems which h have all failed due to historic floods. They shut down Friday, placed safety protocols, alerted the athaurities and continued to monitor the situation Rotella. I read about the plant 2-3 days ago when it became imminent that there best efforts would fail. They advised a 1.5 mile evacuation. But the media wanted to Hound the president of one division of the company, who is not a chemist, about something some academic pin head told them. Of course the pinhead has no real idea what is present in the plant. I'm sure a chemical company has plenty of chemist who do know what is there and what the reactions will be. They explained that they felt it best to leave the refrigerated containers in place as opposed to trying to move them off site because no one knew what conditions they would run into and that was a much more dangerous scenario than leaving them in place, away from the main plant.

Another pet peeve of mine is these so called reporters who one minute talk about how historic this is. Never before seen water levels etc. etc. Then shove a microphone in the next victims face and the first question is "have you ever seen anything like this?" l I would answer "why yes, just last month we had a great flood worse than this one, but thank to santa clause we got through that one and we will get through this one with help from the Easter bunny and love from cupid". Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. But the one great black lady told the CNN reporterette what she thought. Loved it.
