One reason that the NRA refuses to negotiate is because they have been burned before by the anti-gun lobby.  As soon as they might agree to one change, then the anti-gun lobby tries to take it further.  We know that the end goal of the anti-gun lobby is to ban guns, despite the Supreme Court Ruling about the right to bear under the Second Amendment.  So why take a step in that direction?

Many people understand that banning guns will not make the population safer.  Has it made the UK safer?
