After working all day at my lake house and while driving back to Montgomery, a strange thought popped in my head. I have had thoughts off and on for the last few days about the shooting in Las Vegas. I know this will sound a little wild, and I am not trying to make light of the shooting and terrible aftermath. I was in my old truck and the radio doesn't work and out of no where the lyrics of "Froggie went a courtin' and he did ride, uh-huh, With a sword and pistol by his side, uh-huh. He rode up to Miss Mousey's door, uh-huh, Gave three loud raps and a very loud roar, uh-huh," etc. came out of the "blue" or maybe the "dark" since it was nighttime. No, I'm not losing my mind, but I thought it a bit weird that a little "song" that I remember as a child and and recalled it again when my children came along would surface at this time. I immediately thought that if "Froggie" had been limited by the "laws" that today's left wing liberals propose, he would not have had a "sword" and "pistol" by his side, uh-huh.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         What is even a little more intriguing about this event is that after I got home I "googled" 'Froggie Went a Courtin" and found that there must be over a hundred versions of this little "song" with something of a similar nature dating back to the 15th and 16th century. I found Bob Dylan's version which consisted of seventeen verses to be rather amusing. I only posted this because I thought it might add a little levity to all the gloom and doom that is being posted today. And yes GoneFishin before you respond, I think I am reasonably equipped to pass a "background" check for my purchase of a firearm.
