Over the last few years I have noticed many people carrying small dogs on a plane in those little carry on bags.  Occasional barks but no real issue.  Also have occasionally seen service dogs being trained to fly.  Again, no issue.  Last week I flew to San Antonio and back and there were two full size dogs that were definitely not service dogs on the flights.  One, a German Shephard kept going into the isle while the flight attendants were trying to serve drinks.  I sat there expecting someone to trip over the dog and get hurt.  At one point the dog had his head in the isle and the flight attendant was carrying a tray of drinks and didn't see him and gave him a kick in the face.  The owner got all pissy about it and I am thinking would she feel the same way if some passenger kept their feet in the isle.  It's not like they don't announce to keep the isles clear while they are doing their service.  

I just don't get it.  If you want to take a full size dog on an airline flight you need to have some consideration for the other travelers and the crew.  Maybe drive if you can't leave home without your pet.
