It has always been my experience that real Christians don't have to thump their Bible, rave about their family values, and deny they have ever sinned.  I have a very good friend who is one of the most devout people I know, but she doesn't talk about it. She lives her values every day.  She is my role model, and I can only hope one day to be like her.  It's not that there aren't good men and women out their living their lives, their values and their faith.  But when you are a public official, you carry out the duties of your secular office for the good of all; for instance, you don't say that you will not carry out a ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States, just because it doesn't fit with your personal beliefs.  Because the Supreme Court makes their rulings based on the U.S. Constitution and their interpretation of it, not on their personal beliefs and not because of what is in the Bible.  Because even the Bible is subject to interpretation.  If there were only one, then we would only have one religion in the world.  But all people of faith are bound by the belief of a Creator.  

When I hear someone say that another person was attracted to a young girl's purity - to me, that means he wants to be the first to touch her and he is attracted by her "purity"i.e., virginity.  You know in some cultures, men pay a huge price to be the first.  In our culture, we were taught to maintain our virginity until we are married because every man that would be a husband wants to be the first. Times have changed, but there will always be those who will blame the woman.   But getting back to Judge Moore.  Presumably, he wished to retain his law license, he didn't rape women or have sex with minor girls, because that would have been the end of his career.  But just because he didn't do it, doesn't mean he didn't want to, or didn't try.  Just because he is now married and running for office doesn't mean he never entertained a perversion.  

Womaen have been taught throughout time that reporting harassment or sexual abuse will not end well for them.  It may cost them their reputation, their job, their family.  So they frequently hang back and don't say anything, but it doesn't mean they forget about it.  Even when it was a long time ago, a woman remembers how helpless and disrespected she felt.
