As to this website, yes, the subjects have evolved over the years and now the Off Topic site is pretty much political.  I noticed you are registered on Yates Lake.  The old original website would take you to Lake Martin Forum, but that forum was broken into multiple forums some years ago.  You might want to register as Lake Martin and you'll have access to Lake Martin Forum, which is mostly local Lake topics and may be more to your liking.  My suggestion, if you don't like what you see on any website, move on.  We have a wonderful, free country.  Try Facebook.com.
