Everything’s Art is pleased to announce a Winter 2019,
art competition for all students who live under the jurisdiction of the Tallapoosa County Board of Education.
This includes K thru 12th grade, home schooled students, special ed students and those actively working on their GED. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top finalists of each category as well as an overall Best of Show. The finalists will have their work on display during February 2019 at Raining Dogs Gallery, on the square in Dadeville.
Categories are:
Kindergarten, Grades 1-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, Grades 9-12.
The theme will be Alabama Bicentennial.
Judging will be based on 1. Originality, 2. Technical Skill, 3. Interpretation of the Theme.
Only artwork created in the AL Bicentennial theme will be considered for inclusion.
Artwork can be whatever the student decides; painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, paper mache, lego blocks, etc.
A description of the intended art must be submitted by November 16, 2018.
All final submissions must be received by January 5, 2019.
An art committee will then announce finalists on January 12, 2019.
The finalists will then have until January 23rd to get their art to Raining Dogs Gallery.
Students may sell their art and will receive 90% of the sale price.
The show will open on Friday, February 1, 2019 and run thru February 23rd.
In addition to cash prizes to the finalists, Everything’s Art is soliciting businesses to donate additional prizes to be given out randomly between all entries. The more prizes donated, the better the chance for a student to win something just for participating. Prizes may include things like a haircut, dinner for 2 or 4, a gift card, clothing, cash, etc.
More information will be posted to the Everything’s Art website as available.
