I am interested in advice from members who have had to clear property with lake front in order to provide lake access, dock access, etc.  I have recently acquired some lake front property and researched the regulatione concerning clearing the property. Regulations stipulate no trees larger than 3 inches in diameter may be cut down within 30 feet of the "full pool" (99 feet) line, no impermeable materials within 50 feet, etc. My property is rife with scrub pine, including trees rooted below the full pool line and some leaning over the water.  Seeking to clear those, install rip rap for shore stabilization and re-plant better (shade) trees, however, have not received much help in discussing the improvements when I have reached out to NC Water Resources Division. Anyone had a similar experience or know a good way to approach this?
