Good point, luv. I helped recover a drowning victim about 30 years ago. Sounds like the same situation as this. People dont realize that the branches underwayer stay intact long after the branches above water have broken off. They speculate the victim had tried to swim under what looked like a smooth log and he got tangled in the branches underwater and drowned.
