So you are in favor of reparations?  Can you explain to me how this will work.  Say, everyone that is alive right now that had a slave for a relative somewhere in their past - say 150 years.  So we pay those people.  Then where does it stop?  What about the next generation and future generations?  We'll just keep paying and paying and apologizing and apologizing when will it be enough?  Never.  It will be a new kind of welfare system.  Corey Booker wants to give every baby born a $1000 bond, so they will have  $50K  when they are 18. Hmm, how many of those kid's bonds will be available for them.

You realize that white people may have a slave in their family history.  Not in my family, because unfortunately, I was born in the north and my ancesters all came from Northern Europe, so no money for me.  

I do think that Biden was trying to harken back to a time when the Congress could actually work together and get things done, and the two he chose just happened to be segregationists.  Don't worry, all the other candidates are jumping on this to condemn Biden.  Too bad it's not closer to the election.  By the time they narrow it down to one candidate, everyone will have forgotten about it.
