I did see Bohemian Rhapsody and I liked it. I didn't know very much about Freddy Mercury and I thought it was a good portrait of what a tortured soul he was. It brought back memories of when I worked with a lot of gay men, when AIDS was just discovered. All of them are dead now.
As far as the Elton John movie - I haven't seen it so can't comment on any sex scenes. But as you may recall, he also struggled with his sexual idenity and even married once. His life was a study in excess - at one point he was almost broke from his addictions and excesses. Yet, he never stopped turning out songs - he writes the music and his writing partner writes the words.
I feel like I have seen so many great movies over the years, I think they mostly put out trashy remakes, and special effects animations over and over. Not to mention the fact that I know very few actresses and actors these days and they seem interchangable to me. I actually have caught a few good, obviously made for a black audience, movies on TV. One that comes to mind is "Soul Food".
I think it is a real shame what the movie industry has become.
