I suffer from no such confusion. Prejudice is, as its entomology suggests, prejudgement without basis. None of us is entirely free of prejudice.

Racism, OTOH, is the use of prejudice as the justification for attitudes, political positions, and actions.

It is one thing to prejudge. It is entirely another to defend that prejudgement as fact and to act on it.
