In Alabama, I can't necessarily blame Ivey. I remember shortly after I moved here, massive funding cuts caused mental treatment facilities to close down. I remember thinking at the time that a mistake that was and what would happen to those people now? Once you are an adult, unless you consent to treatment and have the money or insurance to pay for treatment then you are out of luck. If you do something violent, perhaps the court will find you mentally ill. If you are lucky you may end up in a treatment center, but most likely you will just end up and jail, and then on the street.
