that young people who are entering the next step in preparing for their future careers as they enroll in college are witnessing "horrific" events in what seems to be senseless murders on college campuses across the country. The recent murder of 18 year old Tessa Majors at Barnard College in New York City is a prime example. She was stabbed to death by a 13 year old. The Majors family said in a statement, "Tess was a light that shined brightly and our hearts will never be the same. She was very special and very loved". Majors' father, an author and professor at James Madison University, often posted on Facebook about her accomplishments in music and her young career. "Eighteen years ago my life got redefined in all the right ways when this little bundle of fun came into the world," he wrote on her birthday in May. "Happy Birthday to Tessa Rane Majors, a fantastic young lady. I can't wait to see what the next 18 years have in store". What I have just read brought tears to my eyes. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio wrote in a tweet, "We will find the perpertrators of this crime and bring them to justice. We lost a young woman full of potential in a senseless act of violence". We all know that de Blasio is responsible for limiting the actions of police officers as they try to perform their duties. He even warned his young biracial son about having "interactions with Police". From my perspective, much of what we are seeing today relative to the lack of respect for law enforcement personnel is a direct function of President Obama's actions regarding law enforcement during his eight years in office. It's almost reached a point that if you disagee with some one, just pull aot a gun and shoot them.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              On a local front, Aniah Blanchard, a young 19 year old college student from Homewood, Alabama , attending Southern Union State Community College in Auburn was kidnapped and murdered. Another young woman attending college in Atlanta was found murdered recently. At the time of Blanchard's disappearance, her murderer Ibraheem Yazeed was free on a $295,000 bond for charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, robbery, and possession of marijauana in connection with the beating of two men in a Montgomery hotel in January. It is sad to see the lawlessness that is prevalent in our world today!!!!
