Funny thing is, up the east coast there are plenty of older wooden lobster fishing boats and out on the west coast, plenty of wooden schooners and trollers that take a variety of weather conditions and elements. These fishermen are not particularly known for their attention to yachtsmanlike (sp?) detail, but it does prove that you can easily change a plank, epoxy, repair a wooden boat much like a repair to a fiberglass boat. It would be interesting to compare the normalized costs of wooden vs fiberglass boats over, say, a 10-15 year period.
I remember when Alan Jackson rode up to Aquapalooza in his Hackercraft. It was a thing of beauty. Did he donate it to Children's Harbor?
